I'm extremely sensitive on my hand palms. Dry textures can be a problem and I must have a moisturizer at all times because if I wash my hands I can't touch anything right after. It gets to the point when even air is troublesome.
So, throughout my life, I've heard comments like 'why do you always have your hands clenched?'. I didn't really pay much attention, it just made me feel better, so I did it. With time I became more and more aware of it and now try to avoid it in public. But looking at old pictures I realized that I really did that a lot.
I never considered that stimming, not even bothered to mention to any psychologist, because it's not a repetitive movement - only a repetitive behavior. It does fit the 'doing it to make my body feel right' aspect, though. I was wondering, could that be stimming? Does anyone else go through that?
