I know this thread comes up a bit some times, but...
I was thinking about a friend I had years ago- about a decade ago- and we talked a lot back then about being different and weird and stuff and sensory overload and some other issues we had, without having the words to describe them.

Anyway, this friend I know suffered tremendously from lack of support and the abuse of her parents. We fought over some dumb stuff, and they ended up doing very poorly and dropped out of school. Then I didn't hear from them for a really long time.
Suddenly, recently, I saw them again at my job during their off time just under a year ago maybe 8/9 months ago?
I realized now that almost all of the stuff that they complained about and was having trouble with was due to simple autism things- it also explained why we were so similar and had an easier time understanding each other.
So, I realized that we had a couple of common friends still on facebook and I don't know how they are doing now really- but I don't know..... am I obligated to at least tell them about autism or that they are most likely autistic? Knowing that the knowledge would greatly enrich their life???
Knowing also that it would most likely help them...

I don't know; I feel guilt not telling them about it or at least that I'm autistic.

But at the same time we never made up after our fall out which is why we don't keep in contact anymore.
However, it was very nice seeing them before, and it would be so simple to just write out a simple message on Facebook- but how or when would I talk about autism if I did decide to message them.
What do you all think ??? :|

If you bring it up it should be done in person.
