Yeah, Champix is meant more for a last resort sort of thing. I'd say you were probably just ready. I'll be 4 years cigarette free on August 7th! I found the nicotine gum helped. The hardest part for me was going to work though. I had a stressful job at the time, so it was the hardest place for me to be as far as cravings went. The gum helped me with while I was there(although I'd be careful for those thinking of using it--a couple of times I chewed it like normal gum because I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing, and it made me pretty nauseous), but I didn't even end up using all of the gum. After about a week I found I didn't need it anymore. The first few days are always the hardest. From there, it just keeps getting easier, so congratulations to you!
