when time I channel-surf and wind up on PBS where "doc martin" is on, every time I see that little $#!+ I just wanna reach through the screen and punch his [character's] arrogant little conk. he makes me wanna hurl. a less appealing character is impossible for me to imagine. I realize he is just a fictional construct but just the same he incites in me a visceral reaction. anybody else here allergic to certain tv characters? [*I won't mention any actual personalities.*] is this a thing that is more common among us on the spectrum? or less common? please discuss Image

The only one is the kingpin from daredevil, he looks more like a big baby than a criminal and his acting is exaggerated too much, not like a human being.

But everyone else likes him.

Never saw the show, but watched a clip. Is he supposed to be on the spectrum or something?
I can't think of any character offhand that agitates me much. There are some I have found annoying, but that's about all I can think of at the moment.

I don't know for sure but I've heard people say he is. in any case, I don't particularly like being lumped in with him by NTs.

I have that happen every so often. Usually it's someone that reminds me of some abuser in my past so I always thought it was a PTSD thing.

I can't think of any specific one's offhand because I don't really watch too many TV shows regularly. But I have often seen characters I'd love to punch right in the face. And when it happens, I REALLY wanna punch them in the face.

As of late Robb Stark from Game of Thrones, I realize that is a bit dated as he died quite a while ago in the series...but he was such an idiot and essentially got himself killed. But I've been reading the books and I haven't read up to the red wedding yet.

I want doc martin to be stripped of his license and be forced to get a hard labor job. that'll teach him.

I read a summary, sounds like House, the doctor with blunt speech and his own opinions.

Daredevil is a good show, Kingpin's look and acting aren't deal breakers.

in the military, a lot of my associates and my bosses' behaviors reminded me [in retrospect] of doc martin.
