Like the title says. What repetitive self-stimulating behaviors do you do the most?

I think my main one is beating my knees together when sitting or laying down. I also have a habit of repeatedly opening and closing latches, especially with battery covers on TV remotes. I also pace when thinking and rock back and forth when stressed.

Just off the top of my head I put things in my mouth, fiddle with various things, open and close my hands repeatedly, shake my right hand back and forth, flap my hands when I'm excited, and when I'm stressed I often rock back and fourth and wave my hands around as if I just walked through a spider web.

i flap my hands, and i also developed a habit - bc flapping my hands would hurt my wrists - of making fists and leaving my thumbs slack so when a flapped, my thumbs would slap my fingers. I fingerspell what I'm thinking/saying, tap my fingers, bounce my leg, hum, rock, and run my hands thru my hair

Rocking. Drumming/slapping my legs, upper body and head. Hand flapping as if shaking water off. Making repetitive vocal sounds.

Hand flapping, pushing my arms forward quickly. Rocking, jumping, almost clapping movements with my hands...repetitive language.

Hand movements and swaying side to side when I am standing. not realizing I am saying things twice out loud. People have told me it's annoying. I dont have many friends. im too "weird" for them.

if i am upset then i hit my head mostly with my hands.

Im still surprised about how many different stims there are, when i first read about aspergers i thought "no i dont flap/rock etc, so this means im not stimming". But i do stim, and i do it alot.

For me its

constantly bouncing and/or bumping my leg when sitting down
twisting my toes
pacing - alot!
chewing on stuff (My mom got mad about this one very often)
rubbing my lower face
playing around with my goatsie beard
generally fidgeting (I destroyed many many battery doors as a child)
swinging from side to side when standing
AND, i realized i do flap. But only when my brain kinda "lags" while speaking a sentence and i try to remember what to say again. I also hum in that case...

Also some behaviours im not sure if they count as stimming rather than just as a bad habit but i have seen discussions about it...

cracking my fingers and my neck
skin picking & nail biting

When i was a kid i used to hit my head against something (my own hand, books, walls etc) when i failed something or beeing upset. I also used to lick my lip/mouth area and wipe it off with my hand after doing it when under stress (so almost ever) resulting in them getting sore. I always needed a very specific ointment so that it would heal at least. But these 2 are gone or at least very drastically reduced today...

Peace
TK

rocking in my chair, back and forth really fast. having objects in my hand and fiddling with them, like when i was a kid i had this toy panda (that i imaginatively called "panda") and i used to feel and play with when i was nervous or upset. so i do that now as well like controllers and phones and things oh and pens ooooh especially pens, because they are very manipulatable. oh and i sort of swing my feet independently from my legs (without moving my legs) rapidly.

There are things I do which I think MIGHT be stims, I'm not sure. This is all new to me!

Fiddling with small objects. Small toys with mechanical features are a favourite- right now I've got hold of a tiny spring-loaded metal seige catapult I got from a castle gift shop. Also pens, which I often disassemble when I'm around people. (Under stress, I tend to break pens.)

Walking in circles. The circles have gradually got bigger. I wore muddy tracks in the garden as a kid, so later got sent out to orbit the lakes in the park. And living in a flat above someone with a short temper broke me of pacing at home... I still get into states where I feel compelled to tread endless loops through the town centre.

Singing. I sang all the time as a kid. All kinds of tunes, but I never sang words. My parents got me piano lessons in an effort to channel it somewhere useful, then had to put up with me relentlessly hammering the piano all day. I'm actually a pretty good singer these days, even occasionally get paid for it... and sing non-stop during my first two hours at work when there's no-one else in the building. I get fixated on making quiet, wierd tapping noises on the guitar.

1. Playing with my hair
2. Walking back and forth or in circles
3. Rocking from side to side
4. Touching my face: forehead and cheeks
5. Rubbing the top of my ear
6. Pushing up my glasses
7. Swinging my legs back and forth or bouncing them when sitting down (which might be because of RLS?)

Hm... Yeah, I think those are at least the more noticeable ones.

I used to flap my arms when I was little, but kids at school made fun of me so I kicked the habit when I was about eleven or twelve years old.

Oh, I do this too! Never thought of that one. ^^

I wash my face 7 times then the top of my head and then my neck each 7 times before I shave in the mornings. At work I am always shaking my legs. I have a nervous cough at work I try to stop but it only works for a short while.

Pacing around the house or office. My hands fidget a lot when anxious. And when I am excited I flap my hands like a 5 year old.

1. Pacing
2. Meowing
3. Whispering under my breath

I have others, but they a personal.

My dad will often ask why I'm pacing and I simply go somewhere in the apartment and go back because I forgot something and go back to where I was.

Slowly rocking upper body while running my fingers along the surface of a large resin miniature of Schloß Neuschwanstein. I'm even doing it now
