Well, I don't know if we should believe her or not, but Justine Musk should know. She's been married to one of those aforementioned billionaires for 8 years, so she might know something.

that line in the article, sounded to me like she was speaking generally about innovators, and saying that often include autistics and other neurologically different people.

Here we go with another "trying to diagnose public figures over the internet" thread.

I agree with the OP. There's no doubt in my mind that they're on the spectrum.

God is Autistic, I just know. Just imagine the hyperfocus, the genius it took to create the world. Speaking of sensory sensitivies think of how much one needs to create them. Repetitive behavoirs and special interests, God created a lot of galaxes that look alike. God has very atypical social communication. God must be on the mild end of the spectrum he has no problem with Executive Functioning or multitasking.

I concur. Though I do happen to know that one or two of Elon Musk's children are on the spectrum.

That aside, how is that source code for an arena? I would expect an arena to involve classes.

I'd say it's possible that those people are autistic, but there are many people who have some autism traits but are not autistic. There have also been studies done showing that people who have some autistic traits (but are not autistic) are more likely to have children with autism.

@Chronos, that's just a single function from the code which computes the inverse square root of a number. It's used a lot for calculating normal vectors in lighting. Quake 3 doesn't have character classes. It's pretty much a generic first person shooter. If you mean OOP classes, then it's written entirely in C, which doesn't have classes.

From what i have read and heard about Jobs is that he was more of a Narcissistic Personality Disorder kinda guy.

Billy got a kid with Aspergers and he's very aspie.

Musk i've heard nothing about.

I don't understand what difference it makes. I mean why should I care?

If it doesn't make any difference to you now, it never will.

However, some people love to label famous people so they can relate to them, thinking it will bring them good fortune too - or something... "Oh, look, he/she is autistic, and i'm that too". It's a common human thing, neurotypicals do it with sports dorks, that mass hysteria is something i will never understand.

They do not realise that those people won the gene pool lottery, and most others will never be as successful as the ones they worship.

It's fun to speculate; I don't see anything wrong with it.

As long as you don't see your conclusion as being authoritative.

No, I completely agree with KK. I'm just trying my best to give some autistic people hope who say their life is useless and meaningless, that even with this diagnosis they need not throw in the towel. And before anybody writes back and says, "Oh, but Robin, you're just giving people false hope," let me say this: what's better - trying to help your fellow man and therefore being part of the solution, or sitting back and doing nothing which makes you part of the problem?

And while I'm on the subject of hope, this is also my issue with people who stay "imprisoned" in impoverished neighborhoods, then blame "the man" or "the system" for their failures instead of trying to better themselves. As a matter of fact, there is no try, only do. Rant over.

Dispite my sarcastic post above I do suspect Gates because of the public rocking does add a little more then the usual social ackwardness that is used to diagnose celebraties. Microsoft was a partnership. It was Gates and Steve Balmer the uber extrovert salesman. I have worked for a number of successful companies that were owned by partners with opposing personalities that complemented each other and where the partners respected each other and the differences. Every company with a sole owner I worked for went out of business.

I doubt Jobs because his geniues was in knowing what other people wanted even when they did not know it and knowing how to communicate that his product fulfulled that need.

I suspect the late President Richard Nixon because the well documented extreme social awkwardness to the point of near shutdown and apperarent stimming in unscripted situations , "architectural mind" , and formal routines such as wearing a suit and tie to dinner every time even when dining alone.
