I've read great things about autism and Pokemon Go. I can't seem to get into it. I don't look down on people who play it, buts it's just not for me. Don't really know why though.

Anyone else NOT into it?

I thought it was going to be a lot more than it actually is, I play the first couple pokémon games a few times a year in rotation, as I've crowed before, there is something soothing and satisfying in roaming the pixel grass and rounding all your party up into a formidable fighting machine, I love bicycle road and the safari area!

Currently no, I would feel silly today (I liked Pokemon when I was little).

Dont really understand what it is. And dont want to understand it.

But speaking of the Ayatollahs: apparently soldiers on all the opposing sides in the Syria/Iraq wars, including ISIS fighters, are into the game. And they wander around in front of gun emplacements and mortors trying to catch Pokemon critters.

I love this app not for the game play, but for the potential it has. PWe have a mini application where you can capture and raise pokemon (It emulates Snap in this regard). Well imagine transferring those pokemon to your Occulus rift and interacting with them from there! Combining console and mobile device to make one big game is remarkable to me! Also it brings a lot of people together too, I have told so many people about Pokemon Go, how to play it, and some tidbits they want to know.

There are a couple of mechanics that irk me though:
1. Combatpower: This is the biggest equalizer for "Attack/special Attack" I have ever seen and shows a huge lack of stats.
2. It is too easy to cheat with math: I can easily look up the CP multipliers/max CP and save a lot of time by evolving right at the halfway mark, maxing out the CP, while capturing less pokemon and slowing down my personal level, which is about to hit the next point...
3. When you hit the high levels, level 30, you get a major backlash. This can beinterpretedas good or bad, but pokeballs become less common, apparently. Also more pokemon are higher CP but are way harder to catch. I am not level 30 and haven't experienced this myself tho
4. The tracking, this is just dangerous. You need people to pay attention to their surroundings and not look at their phone the whole time while walkign outdoors. They need a better sense on where they are headed.

It's another one of those annoying things that people are into because it has been constantly forced in their faces, so they do it like sheep. Like all the other things such as that Shades of Grey book, Kardashians and other talentless celebs, or Beckham's latest attention seeking scheme which usually involves selling their children into the celeb industry so their talentless mother can use them for her own attention. I'm sure it's designed to dumb down society.

Hah, pretty much sums it up doesn't it. From what I know via popular media it seems very silly. Running around staring at a phone even more instead of paying attention to the world, trying to catch cartoons. Strikes me as something for young kids that their parents bemoan the lack of educational value. Not sure why adults with better things to do are obsessed with it.
So anyone who is into it - what is the point? And why would it be good for autistics?

I've been accompanying my kids while they play it. It was entertaining.

Not into it either. I try to be very conservative with starting new things because there are a limited number of hours in the day and you have to focus on the things that are important such as sleeping, washing, eating, relaxing your mind by watching TV or YouTube videos. In my opinion when you do these things instead you are going to be healthier mentally and physically.

On the up side:

If the Defense Department were smart it would airdrop tons of specially programmed smart phones onto ISIS controlled areas of Iraq, and Syria. Get the ISIS fighters hooked on a special version of Pokemon Go in those phones. And then sit back and watch the ISIS fighters coming out of their bunkers to chase the cartoon characters into places like minefields, or off of cliffs.
