I love this app not for the game play, but for the potential it has. PWe have a mini application where you can capture and raise pokemon (It emulates Snap in this regard). Well imagine transferring those pokemon to your Occulus rift and interacting with them from there! Combining console and mobile device to make one big game is remarkable to me! Also it brings a lot of people together too, I have told so many people about Pokemon Go, how to play it, and some tidbits they want to know.
There are a couple of mechanics that irk me though:
1. Combatpower: This is the biggest equalizer for "Attack/special Attack" I have ever seen and shows a huge lack of stats.
2. It is too easy to cheat with math: I can easily look up the CP multipliers/max CP and save a lot of time by evolving right at the halfway mark, maxing out the CP, while capturing less pokemon and slowing down my personal level, which is about to hit the next point...
3. When you hit the high levels, level 30, you get a major backlash. This can beinterpretedas good or bad, but pokeballs become less common, apparently. Also more pokemon are higher CP but are way harder to catch. I am not level 30 and haven't experienced this myself tho
4. The tracking, this is just dangerous. You need people to pay attention to their surroundings and not look at their phone the whole time while walkign outdoors. They need a better sense on where they are headed.
