I've been thinking lately about the Autism community and how it currently exists. I know much "communing" goes on online, and at conferences or events but where else? This reminded me about how more comfortable interacting online can be than face-to-face. Wouldn't the likely place for an Autism community to take root be online? I saw in my mind an online Asperger's city. A central hub with links to all real-life necessities online, everything that would be found in a "real" city. This would include links to online shopping for items such as groceries (that can be purchased for one's "real" house), sundries, entertainment, education, services, etc. completely contained online. Residents would live in virtual domiciles alone or with real partners that they met in a virtual bar or virtual place of worship. The city would be populated only by people on the spectrum.

This reminds a bit of The Matrix.

Would you be a member of an online Asperger's city?

Well. I am a member of an online Aspie Village, so we have a starting point so we do.

It sounds like a non inclusive isolationist version of Second Life.
