Excessive daydreaming/special interests and stress
I'm curious whether there is a link between excessive daydreaming, special interests, and stress. I used to spend a lot of time daydreaming, back when I was very stressed as a lot of events were happening in my life. Now, I'm less stressed and I only daydream for about an hour a day instead of about 5 or 6. I'm also having less meltdowns and shutdowns, and they're less severe. It's also affected my special interests, I used to obsess very strongly over people, but now my people obsessions have decreased in strength and I focus more on interests that aren't people.
Do you think there's a link between changes in daydreaming or special interests, and stress?

You are very likely neurodiverse (Aspie)
I have very strong special interests but I've never daydreamed. The combinations are probably entirely personal and not linked to each other.

i used to have the same thing , but since i told myself to stop daydreaming , my people interest has decreased as well , but i didn't develop a new interest ! i only have the same things i used to have a s a child; a lot of deja vus and the "in -love mood , when observing everything around me ! i feel like there is a connection but its logic is visible to me and i can't make it in a sentence or write it down ! what is yours ?

I was just saying something about this...
I'm not really sure. I know my activity based special interests have nothing to do with stress or lack thereof... unless someone is stressing me out by interrupting me while trying to do something. Heh. I get grumpy when I'm all into drawing and someone keeps interrupting me. I can also chill out if I go all out with drawing, for example. But the same can be said for me if you switch the word drawing with the word lunch. And lunch is nothing like a special interest to me.
I do get obsessed with people and I have no clue if it's a special interest or what. I have not noticed though that there is some kind of correlation between my people obsessions and stress. They seem to have nothing to do with each other. But on the flip side, if I am stressed I am more likely to do things like hide up in my room and I may or may not end up dwelling on someone. It would seem reasonable that the more time I spend hiding away, the more opportunity I would have to get my people obsess on.
That was not helpful at all, was it.
