social situation confusion
Ok! Yesterday we found out my nephew has to come over next Saturday for a school function since his parents have to work and can't take him. (So Grandma will do it.) IMO fine.
Well! He asked to sleep over tonight his mom said no. IMO fine.
I suggested "Hey maybe he can sleep over Friday since you have work Saturday???"
OMG! I shouldn't have asked it in front of him OMG!
Like I made some social error????
Dad says HEY she called you out on it!
On what????
IMO YOU have to work Sat. I WAS SUGGESTING! It MAY be easier if he slept over Friday night IT WAS A SUGGESTION/IDEA! IS ALL!
Not sure where I went wrong????
I am not sure exactly where you went wrong either.
This is one of those situations where the people involved seemed to have created a provisional (meaning non-existent before and might change again later anyway) rule between themselves using implications which I always miss. How are you supposed to keep track of information that is never directly stated and is constantly fluid?
