For example in class people are talking amongst themselves I tell somebody my opinion on something and everyone goes quiet and watches me even though I'm just talking to the one person in a normal voice. Why am I super interesting to people if I talk lol?

It's often (or so ive been told) because noone knows how to respond. Alternatively people might be waiting for you to elaborate on a point you made a little too concisely. It's not uncommon for aspies to make lateral connections and forget to make their thinking process clear.

It could be something unrelated, like a teacher walking in or something interesting outside the window behind you. It could also be that you were talking a bit louder than everyone else and didn't notice.

Your right I think. I reckon my classmates think of me different to how I really am or I come across different. I think this because today I hurt myself and swore and some people were shocked and thought it was funny that I swore. I don't get it because I swear a lot by mistake but since I'm very isolated and don't talk much at college they wouldn't know. Tbh I don't like how I think some people see me as funny for doing normal things that everyone else does. Same time though I don't want them to know the real me because all friendships are temporary. I'm full of contradictions.

Maybe you are speaking too loudly so it catches their attention and you don't realize how loud you voice is or everyone just happened to take a pause in their sentence and then they noticed you talking so they turn to look.

You didn't say how often this happens so this is my only speculation.

yeah id say it might be because of talking louder then you realise, i do that alot, i have no conciousness of how loud i actually am talking, so to me this sounds normal, but to someone else it might sound like almost shouting. hell i only know this because my dad goes on and on and on at me to be quiet, when to me im talking at a mid volume. could be that?

Could it be that you speak so seldomly that the rare time you do speak folks are stunned (like hearing Harpo Marx actually say something with his voice).

That's what I thought too.

Yeah for me it would be because I very rarely speak.

The one day I very loud and clearly told a bully jerk teacher to F*** Off, I think maybe the entire school fell silent haha.

I totally understand what you mean. For me though, the sudden brief silence from others usually stems from the shock that I even spoke lol. And it does really suck how people interpret us as funny for doing normal things everyone else does (i.e. swearing and whatnot) but at the same time I understand where the humor comes from; they already associate us as being weird due to whatever autistic traits we've already presented, so once we do a normal thing the response is an instant raised eyebrow with the joke being that we're trying to assimilate normality (even though we may not actually be trying to do that, it could be a natural response, but its just unexpected to others). If that makes sense lol.

in college, people used to think it was funny whenever i showed up (which i usually didn't) and somehow actually made myself noticed (which i usually didn't). sometimes they'd make jokes and say things like "dude! someone take a picture!" like i was the bigfoot or something. they nicknamed me "myth", because "some people said i existed, but others weren't entirely convinced". i didn't mind it though, i thought it was funny. several of my classmates were actually surprised to find out i was in their class after two years . one of them had no recollection of ever even seeing me before

This a positive thing, they want to listen to you. Probably because you don't speak often and they are interested to see what you have to add.
