I once read on a forum a woman had a little boy with Asperger's who's special interest was the country/western singer, Dolly Parton. She said his obsession with her was getting better since she had him put on some medication. I know there is medication for OCD obsessions, but special interests aren't OCD obsessions. The term "obsession" gets thrown about a bit and people get confused. With the exception of Calvin Klein perfume and the Antimotion song, the word "obsession" has always seemed to be used as negative. With the two examples I described, it's sexual. Anyhow, is there a medication specifically for special interests? Or something hardcore curbie parents give their kids with the intention of diluting their kids' special interests? I think my mother wanted to medicate the meerkats out of me and actually would have if she knew of something that would. Anyhow, is there something that people try (I'm not saying it has to be successful) to give their kids to make their special interest go away?

i heard that risperidone can help with the attacks if you are a classic autist, than cant talk or express yourself. But there are not a specific medicine for us(autists that can express theirselfes). The remedies are to treat repetitive behaviors, depression, anxiety. But to make you more socially its not exist yet, sorry. There are some researches being made with medicines with stem cells to treat autism. i heard in last year that scientists created a brain chip to change behavior. lets see whats happen in the future.
