Reevaluation of diagnosis
So at my own request I'm seeing a specialist psychiatrist this Friday as I have some serious doubts about my recent ASD diagnosis.
I took things out of context during the initial assessment and feel I also overthought certain aspects of what I believed could be autistic traits.
That being said, my psychologist feels ASD is still a possibility.
My question is, how much of a prelude do people think is neccesaary when going for an assessment? I want to make sure I'm giving the full picture (family background, my tendency to shove myself into diagnostic boxes, life experiences, character traits etc.) but know I tend to give too much detail- I think it's an anxiety based need to get all the information out. I just don't want to lead the psychiatrist 'up the garden path' so to speak and end up with a misdiagnosis. I feel I've obsessed and overthought this to the point I'm worried I won't be able to have an entirely 'natural' conversation.
Thank you ![]()
