Whenever I sleep round someone's house (perhaps family as i don't go to sleepovers with friends) does anyone get instantly home sick and actually want to cry? I'm not sure whether this is a routine thing but even when I'm around family members I always am upset and want to go home! I got invited to a sleepover on Saturday by a girl who I've met twice. I politely declined though. I'd love to go for a sleepover with someone I connect with

I'm like that too. I'm usually ok with family, like my grandparents, but not really friends. I think the difference there is the level of control over my situation I have. When I'm at my grandparents, I can do whatever I want whenever I want, within reason. But at friends' houses, I'm at the mercy of whatever they have planned. I've got a couple friends who I'm okay with spending the night with, but that's pretty much it. And it took like two years before I'd sleep over there.

I get homesick easily. I never liked sleepovers. I would attempt to sleep over at people's houses when I was younger to try to fit in, but I would always end up calling my mom in the middle of the night to come and get me.

Yup!

Vacations and business trips are the most common things. I was recently at my daughter's wedding and spent the whole first day curled up in my room thinking "I don't want to be here." A recent business trip went similarly.

I get homesick quite easily, and dislike sleeping in unfamiliar places.

I used to get horribly homesick at sleepovers - I mean cripplingly sad and anxious. But when I was in my late teens, I somehow forced myself to block out those feelings.
Long trips are a different story though. Being away for a length of time still upsets me pretty badly (unless my mom or best friend is with me).
