is there any hope for a future for someone like me?

so autism has had some negative effects on my life to say the least.
i am a few days away from 'celebrating' my 22nd alone just like the last 10 birthdays or so, and my situation can be briefly summed up like this:

-zero irl friends
-never had a gf or had any sexual experiences
-no driver's license
-never had a job
-been NEET (no school or anything) for close to 6 years now and have barely ever left the house.
-no skills to speak of that would help finding work
-suffering from a health condition which has put me in chronic pain for years now and has led to me being low-testosterone (but am now receiving treatment for that at least - even if my health isn't quite optimal yet)
-not much money, around $10k or so in USD (no i don't live in the US)
-crippling social anxiety but doesn't seem quite so bad as it used to be at least at it's worst peak some years ago, maybe because i just simply don't give a f**k anymore
-obvious depression

what are my options? i've been told i'm handsome/attractive/etc. so that's ONE thing that i may have going for me even if it may be fading away, especially with my degenerated health, but it doesn't really help in any way anyway.
also i think my IQ is higher than average, even if not by too much.
is it too late to go to school? should i be working towards getting skills to move to another country more introvert-friendly like in asia? should i be researching suicide methods asap? i don't know. and i haven't known, that's partly why i'm still sitting here after 6 years of isolation.

Hi schopenhauer,

You are obviously intelligent and communicate well through writing, so if you can pursue an education, that sounds like a good idea.

Moving to another country ... maybe. I don't know the countries involved or your situation, but it might be an option for you.

22 ... you're still young.

Best wishes to you,

It's never too late to go to school! What helped my social anxiety a bit was doing volunteer work in a charity shop, and the skills I learned from that helped me get my first job six months ago. I think you can find introverts anywhere to be honest, but if you feel you would be happier in another country then research it very thoroughly. Good luck with whatever you do, and I hope your health improves quickly!

And yes, roll with what works. :D

I have had some success making a conscious decision to turn down my internal censor.

I pretty much think everyone has an internal censor, whether Spectrum, "Normal," or In-between. and no such thing as normal anyway :jester: and how boring a place the world would be if there were!

So, my internal censor reviews something I think of before I say it. I've turned it down so that my default setting is that it's probably okay to go ahead and say it, unless it really jumps out at me as inappropriate. There. Can't guarantee it will work for you, but kind of works for me

You have ten thousand dollars? Like available to you right now? That's actually a lot of money to have at one time.

thanks for the kind words. maybe a simple job similar to that could be beneficial in more ways than one. i'll consider that.

thanks a lot. i'd like to think so lol. i am stupid in more ways than i'm intelligent though.
the country moving thing is obviously a future prospect more than anything, but i've heard of asia being a place where autistic people can thrive more so than in western places which are often heavily extroverted and anti-intellectual etc.
i'd like to think i'm still young but i feel i'm really running out of time.. saying that worked for awhile but now it's getting harder to believe.. i'm incredibly behind for my age.
