Because sharing thoughts, even random and unimportant thoughts, is a way to bond with other people.

I equate weird with interesting. So when someone points out something weird about me or anyone else while saying "that's weird", I'm just like "wow, that is weird, how facinating!! !"

Why do you feel the need to hate on """"""NTS"""""""

I say something is weird when I don't understand it because it's so alien to me and it makes no sense.

What others said. And it's not just an NT thing.

Sort of like some Aspies who have to point out when somebody is wrong about some fact. Or they have to add some really obscure trivia.

It all depends on what they point out to you. Sometimes they go on about little issues, while missing the big picture. I would like to have ideas on how to improve my life, but I don't like to be micromanaged. Very often, these people miss things important to me.

Neither do I. It's pointless. I may disagree with the way they point things out, but I don't hate them.

Everything? :?

... The closest I could think of why NTs would need to is context. It's all about the context.
Whether you know their context or not, no matter how alien or nonsensical it is, they assume you do know, and assume you misunderstood so they point things out that way.

Or why they also have to point out the obvious eg "Wow, I didn't know you would be this big."
