Good news! I told my very new psychologiest that I believed I have AS. She really listened and was very honest with me, even stating that her first reaction was the "oh no, this girl has read too much and thinks..." But after listening to me and my history she is 100% for treating me as an Aspie and helping me with coping methods, which is exactly what I want. To my surprise she actually has some AS patients and actually gave me good advice and "homework" for the week that I feel actually adresses my problems. I feel sooo much better. I still have to see a new psychiatrist about my current perscriptions and possible changes, but the change in therapy is what I really wanted. Yay!!

That's great news. Yep mine actually told me I had AS I was a bit surprised. AS itself is not a problem. But she worked on my eye contact and social anxiety, etc.

Me too. My previous therapist was nice, but we argued sometimes. She didn't know I had AS because I hadn't been diagnosed when I saw her.

Anyways... I feel happy for you, HurricaneRae. I hope your therapy helps you. :)

R-E-S-P-E-C-T! :D

I hope to have similar good news once I see a psychologist. I managed to persuade my family doctor/personal physician to refer me to a psychologist and help me get diagnosed, so please keep your fingers crossed for me...

Congratulations!

This is probably silly, but is there some type of official...something...saying you have AS? I hope to get officially diagnosed at some point, mostly for myself, but also there may be situations where it would be useful to whip out my Official Asperger's ID Card if you know what I mean. Like as a way to possibly get help with some things at school, or stuff like that that I have issues with most likely because of AS.
