How can I improve my mental thought processing? I can't even process what to say in a conversation as quickly as others. It feels very slow and I can say filler like "uh" or "um" a lot. I can't help it. Is it something I can improve with? I consider myself a very good person, but this happens to bother me.

Difficult to say how one improves their thought processing/what that even means, but you could always just ask people to give you more time to process/respond.

I don't know about processing speed, but you may be able to shorten some pauses if you have a few pre-packaged responses... assuming you're not hit with novel topics every time.

It's a matter of expanding your list after considering (outside the current conversation) what you'd say in that situation if it was posed to you again.

You need to practice with people slow enough for you to listen to.
I'd suggest going to a Senior Center or Retirement Community to see if you can locate practice partners.
Many old people have wonderful stories they would love to share with you.
