One annoying trait I find amoung NTs is that, no matter what, they'll always take the juicier conclusion when questionable things go down. Lemme give you an example here.
When I was in highschool, I got into a fight with a bully when I got off the bus. Now, nevermind that I had already whooped this kid's @$$ before, several times. But this time I managed to sprain my ankle as I was stepping in on him (which clearly had nothing to do with him, he didn't injur my ankle, I did). So the next week I walked around with an air cast on my ankle and everyone kept badgering me about how this guy "f---ed up my ankle'. I tried to explain myself, but the truth wasn't juicy enough for them so they decided that they could decide what the truth was.
but that was just one example amoung many though. if the truth is less interesting they'll abandon it for a "more interesting" lie.

Why do you think gossip columns are so popular? silly, silly people.

I like the scene in half baked where they tell the story about killer the dog and why the house was so messed up. Total off-the-wall anecdote, but it kinda fits with the way people choose to interpret things.

Exactly... This is not so much about "interestingness", but about creating stuff to talk about - saying things that trigger a reaction. They did a study on the various things people talk about, percentagewise, and it turned out that TWO THIRDS OF ALL WORDS SPOKEN across the globe on a day concerns gossip... They're such a navel-gazing bunch!

That's not an NT trait. That's a human trait. Plenty of people on this forum do it.. just go check out that thread with the whackos interpreting their own dreams and imagination into psychic powers.

thank you! I may be totally as NT as you can get but I hate gossip, and people magazine and celebrity gossip but it is SO STUPID. I am sure other people think I am way too serious but in the whole scheme of the world and what's important, I could care less about who cut their hair, had a boob job or is cheating on someone. There is just so more to life!
