Have you ever been called a Special Snowflake for...
...complaining about how you were treated badly by professionals and parents due to your autism diagnosis?
My parents call me a special snowflake because of my complaining about such trauma. I don't harrass them about it; I just tell them once in a while.
I guess it depends on the definition of special snowflake-- some people's definitions are different from others-- but I feel this was uncalled for because I don't look down on others except for the ones that did me wrong, and I don't think I'm more special or better than anyone, though I am more informed about myself and about autism than the people who did me wrong, obviously.
I just feel that was so uncalled for. And my dad, when he said it, it was in a provocative tone, one that was mocking and trying to incite anger. Who here has had this happen to them?
