As a kid I had some "friends". They only made friends with me because they pitied me and probably found me weird in an endearing way. So they didn't see me as a true peer. They just saw me as a cute little pet that looks so cute pretending to be human.

After that I can't trust that anyone sees me as a true peer. If they show any sign of being friendly, caring or finding me weird I just get paranoid. Whenever I get in contact with people I often abandon people. I wish I didn't do that, but I just do.

Sad.

But you're probably not the same strange acting person that you used to be. So maybe you can that trust that folks wont abandon you for acting weird like they used to.

If you enjoy being around someone and vice-versa, I'd say it's a friendly peer relationship.
