Are there any of you who find slow, “gentle" music to be stressful? My son, HFA 9 y/o, can’t stand any of what most people consider beautiful “relaxation” music. Just to be clear, my son is welcome to listen to whatever he likes. We are just concerned because music that he used to really enjoy now produces visible signs of stress. He says it reminds him of the ILS therapy he gets with OT. I have no reason not to believe him, but maybe the question should be whether the ILS is actually making things worse. Maybe some of you have done ILS and can weigh in on that.
PS-I know I posted a similar thread a couple of months ago, but the problem has gotten worse so that the music on movies and things really sets him off. Thanks!

I'm going to have to Google ILS because Instrument Landing System is what I know it as from Dad and Grandad being pilots, and I'm pretty sure this ILS isn't that.

Yes!

"Relaxation" music agitates the hell out of me.
Especially soft piano music.
The tinkling of it drives me nuts.

Screamo or heavy metal music I find relaxing.
