Can you get anxiety for no reason?

As in no discernible external trigger? I'd say yes.

Yes. Sometimes anxiety is provoked and you may not even realize it.

I can put myself into an anxiety state by simply trying to work out if I'm in one. A shift in patterns, or somebody in the way of a ritualistic behavior, will cause shutdown & retreat. It can take a week to escape. A weeks work for one day to breathe & when my brain gets worn down from trying to work it all out. That's when the freedom comes. To everyone else, nothing happened. To me, the earth tried to swallow me - no external triggers.

You are not alone.
