I'm not sure if it's a sensory issue but roughly for the 1st hour after waking up I appear to be at my most vulnerable to sensory overload.

This wouldn't be an issue if I lived alone so unfortunately it's my GF that usually causes this problem.

Does anyone else find sensory overload more likely after waking up.

Most definitely. One morning I was making food, then all the sudden, I felt overwhelmingly agitated. We have a gigantic window in our kitchen and the sun was very bright. The birds, the smell of the food, the clothes nipping at me, I could feel my hair moving on my arms. I felt like punching everything that was in my way.

I am normally very groggy on first waking up, but with chronic fatigue, I am also somewhat groggy the rest of the time, too.

It's been always that way to me. :| Whether I woke up from a nap, or overslept for several hours.
I always notice the difference, yet I have little need to condition myself because of it since it's still not enough to overwhelm me.

The only sensation that could possibly have me warm up is the cold (no pun intended). The rest I could handle.

Maybe not sensory issues upon waking, but almost every morning as soon as I wake up I am filled with anxiety and overwhelmed by negative emotions. My first thought is something like... Oh no... I'm awake.

My dad says it's usually like I have a really bad hangover after I wake up. Any sudden light is like a solar flare, any sudden noise is like an explosion.
