writing advice for son

Max (22) and I have started a book project that requires him to spend some time working on the computer. As he loves the computer, the operative word there is work. Does anybody have advice for a high functioning but easily distracted young man to help him get writing done?

I do a lot of writing and I'm easily distracted. My advice is: get a good writing programme (like Scrivener) and disconnect the computer from the internet. If possible, have a dedicated writing computer... word processors are not data-hungry... and have internet connection on another machine in another room.
