NEVER having part of a regular " We're Aspies " on-the-ground culture, I wonder...Is it another stereotypical " Aspie quirk " to get obsessed with " You MUST fill out your application for something EXACTLY this way "??? I ask because :? - In my now-dropped  attempt to go to CCSF, there was this contingent here who were so f*****g obsessed with telling me the way I must make the application, and who to NOT ask - that is, " Thou shalt NOT ask for ANY help in filling out the application out, or who to send it to" :( ???????????

I don't know if it's an aspie trait. But it is certainly something that I do with forms. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. I let it go, after awhile.

...Meaning that you feel that you can't ask anyone, anywhere, for any help  ?
That's what I meant, not " I have to get the form exactly right " :(, though I guess that could be an A-thang as well :P  .

I took forever and went through agonies filling out forms the last time I went to school. I didn't have anybody to ask. Right or wrong, I sent it in.

All my forms are wrong. All of the forms that I get in a lifetime - I have no talent for that. But I fill them in the best I can and see what happens. I can't say it's all good. But some are okay and I go on.

You know what's an odd coincidence, is your age: you are 57? I was 57 when I got my Dx of Asperger's. After a lifetime of being kicked around, I decided I had the right to quit trying to meet others' standards. And here I see you trying to get back in. Just a coincidence but I think it's sad you're not being set free.

I just follow directions when filling out applications. Just like filling out my IRS 1040 forms. There's instructions and I follow them and when I don't understand something, I call the people who gave me the form and ask for clarification.

Chronos, you have named the other kind of forms I fail at. Only yours are American. Not much easier in Canada. I'm in trouble with the Form Demons now and when I phone for help I get the standard "line" that makes no sense to me.
