I use my eyes, and sometimes a good pocket camera. I live with dark skies at 53 deg. north, so I like watching the midnight sun glow, and the aurora, but they are both on the ragged edge for my camera. Can one ever find a handy camera that allows high ISO with long shutter openings? I have an analemma recording the sun position at noon, and celebrate its return to my windows in spring. I observed the last solar eclipse with a pinhole, tube, and paper screen, but failed on the transit of Venus. I follow the news, and enjoy the work of all the dedicated telescope operators.
