Many autists are introverted. The social awkwardness is said to be one symptom. But what are extroverted autists like? I overheard a conversation about so, a girl said that a kid kept trying to make friends with her. He didn't know social limits and would get into her face. (In case you're wondering what happened, she just smiled and nodded.) How many autists are extroverted? I'd imagine the minority are. Are you an extroverted one?

Well, I used to think I was an introvert, but I got ENTJ-A (Fieldmarshal) on the MBTI test. So... yeah. I can be both, depending on the circumstances.

I'm an introvert. I don't know how many are extroverts, but I know a few. They are like in your example, socially awkward and in your face. Too much for most people to handle

A psychologist I had once told me I was exactly half introverted and half extroverted and that's what my problem was. I think it's that I'm always trying to think inside my head about trying to solve the world's problems, so I agree with him.

I was extroverted once or at least I think I was. I've even learned to blend my unusual observations and interests into small talk, like someone would say this and that about someone. I always end up giving explanations and possibilities as to why they do what they do based on my reads or something that I've seen on a movie or something. But even then I would have to be convinced by my friends to go out with them. But now I can't really say I am an extrovert because people drain me. Whilst before I'm not really affected that much by social interactions, now its just barely tolerable.I even once thought that I was crazy because I should be partying with my friends but choose to stay in the house instead. But being extroverted is very helpful at a young age because it gives you a chance to experience life without being judge for your weirdness, or at least not be aware of it, and learn from your mistakes and from the experience of your friends plus when when you grow old and tired of all the social drama at least you can say that you had your day in the sun and can now live your life the way you want to without the feeling that you've missed out on something.

I am somewhere in between. I am an introvert on a thinking level (I love to read and study things), but I like being with people, too.

I've known of some more extreme in your face types. Tendency to invade personal space. Tendency to use an outdoor voice indoors. Tendency to dominate conversation talking about special interest and or self. Tendency to be oblivious to how others react to all that.

I have seen people like that in public. They seem to have one-sided conversations about some special interest or about nothing in particular. Then there are the people whose one-sided conversations sound like one big rant about something or other.

Oh yes and that has scared my other autistic friends who are mostly introverts along with being self-determined.

I just cannot see how that would work.

They'd replay all their extrovert outbursts constantly due to their autistic brains.

They'd kill themselves before 21.

I've known a good bunch of people on the spectrum and sure, most of them are rather introverted, but there are extroverted types too. The ones I've encountered have been very talkative and kind of loud. You definitely notice their presence. Not always in a bad sense, though some can have problems with speaking without thinking first, too loudly, or just being too in-your-face. I guess it's easier for social impairment to come through when you don't hold yourself back as much. However, these people have also been very nice and friendly. Definitely much easier to become friends with than the more withdrawn people on the spectrum, such as myself at times.

I'm still struggling to see how an extrovert could be autistic.

I know somebody who is extroverted and autistic, believe me! It is quite obvious at times.

I'm not doubting you guys.

I mean I can't compute it, I can't be an extrovert autistic, I cannot envisage it.

It is hard to envision :D . I wish I could send you a video of them or something! They are kind of in-your-face, like some other people here said.
