Does anybody else experience meltdowns where their higher brain functions temporarily cease and they feel overwhelmed? The meltdowns I have had during tests cripple my ability to finish them. I also sometimes have internal meltdowns when I do not perform well on assignments at college. It is very frustrating.

Can you speak to an educational psychologist about ensuring you have longer time in exams? Also potentially get to sit your exams in a more congenial environment? My daughter has high IQ but slow processing speed and this is something I will try and secure for her for the future in exam situations as she finds them stressful.

I never had it in relation to exams. But I can certainly recognise what you describe. I get it too in other scenarios when I feel rushed and overwhelmed.

The closest I can come to that is a panic attack. What you are describing sounds different.

I already am allocated double time for exams.
It is not as much of an issue as it was last semester.
