Does desensitization work for autistic people?
Page 1 of 1 [ 1 post ]
I wonder... what if the sensory issues autistic people expirience come from the very fact that the natural desensitization mechanisms do not work? That a typical brain calibrates itself naturally to the amount of information and noise comming from the senses - while an autistic brain does not or does it very inefficiently, using some unusual, ringway circuits?
Did desensitization therapy work for any of you? I don't mean behavioral changes, only first-person expirience.
