If you don't know I've been severely depressed and suicidal for a long time. At the moment I take 30 mg of lexapro for depression and 2 mg of Ativan for anxiety.
I'm also agoraphobic so I know the depression stems from multiple things but I don't know what to ask him for.
I'm going tomorrow so please help with some advice if you have any. Or some questions if you have any. Anything that would help is appreciated.

I think just being up-front about how you're feeling and what you're going through is best. Make a list of the things you want to ask like, "what's the treatment plan?", "how will I know if I'm improving?" (it might not be obvious at first).

Mainly just write down everything you might want to ask because it's very easy to forget in the office and wish you'd asked while you were there.

Medicines can be very helpful, but also certain changes to lifestyle can work with them. It might be worth asking what additional things you can be doing to see improvement.

Hopefully some of that helps.

It's great that you're seeking help for your problems. One thing I did when I began therapy was make a detailed list of everything I wanted to address and gave it to them. They responded very well to it. Just be honest and know that they're not there to judge you. If anything does happen to go wrong or you feel that you can't quite connect with your psychologist, you always have the right to stop seeing them and find someone who you feel more comfortable with. Best of luck to you.
