I'm trying to learn about savant syndrome and i couldn't find much about linguistic savant. What exactly linguistic savant is and is there anyone who considers themselves a linguistic savant in here?

I studied English in university for two years, and I heard the term "linguistic" pop up a lot in there. So I'm thinking linguistic savantism has to do with languages in some form. That's about all I can think of.

I'm pretty good with languages myself, but I wouldn't call myself a linguistic savant necessarily.

"linguistic" relates to languages.

i would think a linguistic savant is anyone with an extraordinary ability to acquire new languages with ease, especially in adulthood where the brain is usually less plastic than in childhood and learning new languages becomes more difficult.

i'm not sure if it's synonymous with "polyglot", that term might simply mean anyone who can speak many languages, not saying anything about how easily they acquired them.
