How to forget about the past?
It's something I always have difficulty with and it's been especially true recently,
Here is what has deeply troubled me and what I keep thinking about (any encouragement appreciated) I recently finished a course at college but my experience was in my view atypical compared to others who go to college/university. Being somebody with AS I found living away from family very difficult and tried it twice but couldn't stick it out. I often feel like a failure because of this and it just makes me feel so different and incapable compared to other young 20 year olds. I keep obsessing over the memories of living away and what I found difficult, and I think about the people I lived with that I did become good friends with but probably won't see them again..
How can I forget about this past event and focus on my future? It keeps bringing me down

This probably won't make much sense to you but the best way to forget the past is to do more things to take your mind off it.
What kind of experiences do you need to forget?
I have this thing where just normal mundane things give me really bad memories. Is it the same wit you?

Yes that's the case with me too. And the main experience I would just like to forget and think about less is in my original post, about how I struggled with many things living away from home like independent living.. which made me feel very bad about myself and different to other people who studied at college. It makes me feel like I failed
