I got this virus when i was born even in pregnant in my mum and why giving me i believe that affect my brain some areas isn't working its serious virus i couldve died from this virus but why and my mother didnt know that i had this virus and then she was shocked but that effect my stupid hearing im deaf all my life never experienced normal hearing and also really frustrating to understand other what they saying to me i feel dumb

Before I go off an google it I must say that it has an interesting name. "Cyto" means "cell", and "mega" means "big".

Apparently the term "cytomegalovirus" is a generic term for a whole family of viruses that attack primates, including humans. There are several species of human attacking viruses under the rubric. These include herpes-simplex, and the Eppstein-Barr virus. So its a generic term, not a term for a specific disease caused by a specific species of virus.

Apparently your mom was attacked by one of several different related culprits that do similar damage. But the docs don't know which one.

The name cytomegalovirus comes the observation that the cells infected by them get swelled up, and their nuclei swell up.
