an aural migraine is where, with or without headache, you suddenly notice that there are frequency notches in your hearing [IOW pitch ranges, generally in the middle of the sonic spectrum] replaced with a buzzing, chirping, ringing or hissing sound of the same frequency. it is analogous to the visual migraines some people have, but instead of the visual migraine's scintillating scotomas, there is just the buzzing sound. the ones I've had went away [thank GOD!! :o ] after a while of rest, darkness, and the trio of anti-inflammatory/acetaminophen/caffeine] takes effect, generally within the hour. who else here has experienced this?

I hadn't heard of these before - such an aural migraine would scare me witless! I've gotten scintillating scotomas that obscured the center of my visual field quite a few times and those can be scary too. Knowing what they are reduced the fear. I had abdominal migraines about a dozen times and those are excruciating, something you really don't want.

I don't think I'd trade you the abdominal migraines. those must be just about the worst gut-ache one could have.
