What Other Disorders Could This Girl Have ?

Obviously this girl is autistic but what other disorders could mimic what's going on here?

This is a pretty accurate depiction of how my mind works although I get angry with myself not scared.

Does this type of thing happen to people not on the spectrum?

She sorta reminds me of myself when I was like grade school age.

Like the bus driver asking a small talk question. I would respond to grown ups asking things like that by cracking a smile, and maybe just nodding. But my parents would sternly admonish me that "he's asking you a question!" . So I learned that I HAD to give an audible verbal answer to even to BS question like that. And by my teens it was second nature to verbalize something when asked a small talk question like that.

To an outside observer she looks disoriented and just overwhelmed. Don't what other condition would 'mimic' that.

Do you get the replaying in your mind of comments, question, statements etc like this? Is that perseveration ?

Not like that. Even when I was a little kid I wouldn't get overwhelmed by folks talking to me on bus ride like that. I just didn't how to respond to small talk by grownups.

Though once in a while, even now, I might replay a conversation in my head "to get it right".

It looks like she has severe sensory processing disorder. Autism or not, SPD could explain everything in the video.

I have that blank moment when people I don't know well ask me questions like that, and then I replay what I think I should have answered over and over again, until I blurt it out loud sometimes. It helps if I can focus on a task or distract with TV or something else, but if I'm left to think I just keep replaying variations on how the conversation should have gone.

I took it very much as an artistic representation of her replaying things in her mind, like when you get a tune stuck in your head.

I'm not sure, it's not something I've ever talked to anyone about. It's been kind of a closely guarded secret, but having just had my Asperger's confirmed earlier this year and doing more research, I was thinking it was part of the autistic traits package.

I wouldn't say it was a closely guarded secret for me , it's just never come up in conversation for me as I thought it was 'normal' behaviour. The list of things I do that are not considered 'normal' behaviour that I thought everyone did is growing , it has been quite an eye opener to the lack of self awareness I have.

I with you on that. The biggest one for me was the "difficulty working out people's intentions." My response was- I don't have difficulty because they tell me.... wait am I supposed to know this without them telling me?" I am starting to realise how the world is not the same place that I always thought it was. Another part is realising that people might be saying one thing while thinking something else. I mean, I know about lying, but I still take everything at face value.
