It won't stop fritching!! !

One of my most recent batch of kittens is a big sook, he can't be left alone or he whines and he fritches constantly!! ! (fritching: flexing his claws from left to right as if making bread) He ca't even walk without doing it...left, right, left ,right ,left ,right... If I even hold him upside down he still fritches in mid air! He never stops. I need a name for him, the force is strong with him.

The cat version of finger flapping??
You could call him "stim"

Or maybe Stimmy.

I sure hope the kitten isn't sick...

If the problem gets worse... take the cat to a vet...

Don't they do that to stimulate the mother to produce milk?

i had a cat who was jealous of me talking on the phone (and i can do marathon phone conversations, believe me - record is nearly 6 hours... )

Iolanthe used to climb up my body, very slowly, stopping every time i looked at her (she obviously thought she was invisible if she didn't move), until she reached my face, and then she'd stick her head in my mouth to stop me talking. the people i was on the phone to got used to it, eventually.

i've always had mental cats, for some reason...

My male cat does that to the carpet all the time, but forgets to sheathe his claws, the result being a clawed up carpet and a hacked off Dad.

My female cat like to rub her whiskers on anything... i think it's marking her scent...

6 hours? Good heavens, woman - get a life......

I was awake for 6 hours once. That was a rollercoaster ride, I can assure you!

Yeash... all this talk about fritching and now I've started fritching. Let me know if anybody finds a cure as this majes it Very hard to type!! !

*grins* More commonly known as kneading, it initially is done to the mother cats to get milk flowing, and is later associated with the joy of milk so that older cats knead to show they are happy! Call the kitten Happy?

Well it's disturbing, and if I see a cat doing it, I will step on them with my mighty boot.

Aww, c'mon!
My cat jumps onto my lap when I'm on the computer and sometimes instead of just curling up and going to sleep, he kneads the top of my leg. It feels kinda nice, actually - as long as I'm not wearing shorts! He does still have his claws, and though he mostly keeps his claws in, the tips tend to be a little prickly if they haven't been clipped lately.

My 7yo's cat kneads his arm at night. He says she is "doing the paw dance." Now isn't that cute??
