I have this friend who I recommended paypal or something. Then I look at stuff about e begging and how it's this horrible thing. Normally I would understand this, but is it more justified if he says he almost got vindicted, says he's about to lose his house, his food card gets shut off, and he tried to get a job, but isn't able to get a full time job? I'm honestly curious about this. If there are better options please let me know.

i don't think e-begging is any better or worse then normal begging.

It's much easier for one to "e-beg" than it is to beg in the street.

As long as you're honest about it, I don't see too much wrong with it.

It's a heck of lot better than someone getting in my face and aggressively begging for money.

I'll agree with that.

It is a lot harder to get off the street than it is to stay off the street.
Best possible (utopian fantasy) option is that no one need to beg. I honestly have to think the only thing wrong with begging, as a matter of survival, is that there are people who have to beg to survive. I think there are far worse things a person could do to get money, and if you're friend can stay above water by ebegging long enough to find a better solution, then so be it.
Sometimes there are legitimate reasons that a job is not the best option (or an option at all).
It took three weeks at my last job to get my first paycheck. That check amounted to less than$80. It wasn't even enough to get through the day, let alone two more weeks until I could get paid again. The job honestly didn't help at all, it just made things worse.
I don't know where your friend is at, there may be government options. California has general relief. I don't know the specifics of it, I think the state will lone a resident $300 a month for a few months. I've never used GR before.
He may be able to find something, though.

You're right. It kind of my fault for persuading him to do this. It's just that I was trying my best to think of ways to help him, and e begging was the only thing I could bring up. Every other idea I came up with, he had a rebuttal. If you want, I could probably show him this forum. And he can read all the advice you all been giving.

I can relate to the rebuttal loop, kind of.
I have at least found myself in something similar, with a lot of reasons behind it, and what feel like rational explanations backed up by experience behind all of the rebuttals. And feeling like nothing I'm responding to is getting near the root of the issues.
I know I've really driven a couple of people nuts with that particular loop.

He may be able to go to school, get financial aid, and live on that for a little while.
I was able to make that work for a couple of years.
