I think the sound of high heels on cement is very relaxing. I think the singsong voice secretaries and medical assistants use when answering a phone is extremely soothing, up to a point that I feel drowsy. And the touch of silky fabric, the smell of the laundry machine, and its hum.

Anyone can relate?

Laying on an operation table while two doctors with face masks numbed my gums and extracted my impacted wisdom tooth was soothing for me.

Despite being on my back still for like 3 hours was aggravating, I enjoyed the feeling of being operated on as I looked up to the ceiling lights that shined down. I could reflect on life, my existence and my future. This was years ago when I had a terrible lockjaw incident where I couldn't open and close my mouth without experiencing excruciating pain.

I like to go to the dentist. I don't understand why people hate it.

There are plenty of reasons why some people hate going to the dentist. Usually in certain situations may cause for further measures like getting an impacted wisdom tooth taken out or getting dentures. Many people have a paranoia or phobia of getting an operation done to their mouth and they may fear needles, injections and the presence of sharp, foreign objects clinking around along their teeth.

What I went through is something many would've rather be put to sleep for as it was a process of using knifes, cutting into my gums which blood was present in order to take out my impacted tooth. Some people just can't endure the sight of things like that which is perfectly fine.

Also, when the operation was done, I was in pain for weeks and had to keep taking antibiotics until the stitched wound in my mouth healed...

Yes but the alternative would have been to live with an aching tooth and taking painkillers anyway. So again... don't understand why people hate it. It's always for the best and people always walk out the dentist office better than before!

Yeah, but despite many understanding that doing said thing will help them in the long run many still refuse to do it. And it's more because of the actual process of it for most, not the aftermath.

Fears and phobias can do that to a person, it's not easy. Just like people with social anxiety and arachnophobia. It takes a significant amount of courage for some to be able to go through the process for the greater good of themselves and others.

Because it hurts when they do fillings etc, also bright light nearly in your eyes, you can't twitch or move and there are people f*****g around in your mouth. I find it so stressful. XD

I'm absolutely terrified of going to the dentist. Maybe I'll get a psychiatrist to prescribe pills to calm down before going next time. Not kidding.

But the vest they put on you for the X-ray is calming, like a weighted blanket. The bright lights in the eyes, the horrible noise of the digging, and my dentist phobia, that's awful.

I like MR machines. I like the whizzing and vibrations and mechanical sounds. I guess a lot of autistics find them scary because of the noise. For me it's pure meditation.

The ticking of clocks apparently annoy some people, I find it very relaxing.
Most engine sounds soothe me, including the lawn movers.
Flowing water, running water, rain against the window

I keep hearing that some people are energized by cocoa. I don't, I get warm and drowsy when I drink cocoa. (My mother does too).

Documentaries and other calm voices tend to make me sleepy. I can't listen to audio books without this effect.

I find all these sounds very calming too. The lawn mowers, but not other engines. Clocks, rain, water, all of the above.
