Probably totally irrelevant but I'll ask it anyway. Do any of you have problems with bathing? With me the thought of doing so can cause much anxiety. I have to mentally steel myself to do it.

I tend to be more thoughtful in the shower which leads to hour long shower sessions. That could be considered a problem. I also have had a few issues when I go to somewhere that isn't home when it comes to bathing due to fear of what could happened in the shower before I got there.

I hate baths with a passion, I feel like I am drowning in them, I completely freak out and will avoid them.

Showers I don't like and they are not very relaxing for me, I have an obsession with doing everything in the most efficient and time conservative way, so my shower is like a race for me. Plus when I realise I have to do something extra (shave etc) I get stressed and frustrated cause it was only meant to take x mins.

I have a shower every other day because it is better than people commenting that I smell, but if I could avoid it I likely would. My parents always used to joke I would be a happy homeless person lol.

I always feel unclean in a bath - squashed in a tub filled with water and feeling all sweaty. I also hate how they make you feel all wrinkly when you come out. I don't know if it's just an ASD thing because my mum hates baths too for the same reason.
I much prefer showers.

I've come to think of a hot shower sometime in the early afternoon as my daily reset button. Can't do without it. Really enjoy the water, the steam, how clean my skin feels during and immediately after.
As much as I like it, I do tend to shower ridiculously fast. Usually in the bathroom no more than 10-15 minutes.
Don't really take baths. I enjoy them but I don't have the patience to soak in a tub. I think it takes longer to fill the tub than I spend in the tub, and I think it's a waste of water. I do like hot tubs, but only if I've got someone to soak with. It's just not fun to sit alone in a giant tub of hot water for half an hour.

Well, ask yourself this... would you wash your face in a pool which your feet and ass are also in? Depending on many possible extenuating circumstances, I would probably classify that as unsanitary.

I prefer showers, used to dislike them because of the killer in Psycho (and other villains), but thankfully that no longer bothers me. :)

Not irrelevant at all. It involves having to deal with change and sensory issues. I've never liked getting in the shower and I like getting into a tub even less. Once I'm in there, then it's okay. It's the getting in and getting out process I hate.

I despise baths with a passion as they are just unhygienic. I also have a massive issue with the feel of wet porcelain. Showers are much better but I always need to wear sandals on my feet and will refuse to have a shower if I don't have them with me.

I used to have trouble with showers when I was a kid----because of the sensory aspects and the hot/cold contrast in winter.

I did much better with baths. I used to take one bath a week when I was a child in the 1960s. Every other kid also took a bath once a week. It was seen as something to be done on Sundays, right before school.

Doesn't bother me any. There were times when I was depressed that I should have bathed more often, but in general while I can be a slob about my clothes on the floor I'm an extremely hygienic person & showering is a non-issue. The only times I don't when maaaaybe I should is when I'm extremely tired and/or stoned and can't be bothered until I get some rest. But I'll usually shower at least once/day. I LIKE water, though. And as I recall from depressive times where I maybe went to a 2nd or 3rd day, when I'd hop in the shower and have that hot water hit me I'd be like "WHHHHHHYYY did I wait?!?"

Everyone has their own unique experience with sensory issues. I'm very sensitive to light and sound. Bathing/showering can go either way although showering's easier to rinse off all the soap, especially because tubs aren't necessarily made for taller people. Sometimes after work I start with a soak and end up showering.

I'm 6'2". I solved this problem in a rental suite I had for less than $20 with a "swan neck," shower head pipe - the "S" shaped pipe pictured here that raises the shower head height considerably:

We have one similar to that, goldfish, even though we're both short, heh.

Me and my flatmate both have showers even though there's a bath in the bathroom. It's really small and we've only used it to bathe the cats. Rarely.

My flatmate is autistic too and doesn't like the shower, the getting in part of it.

I hate showers with passion because I tend to freeze especially in winter. Also, I really don't like seeing my body or the touching of my legs and such. :?

However, I always loved baths especially when I was a kid. I used to play a lot in there. Now I still like being surrounded by water and not getting cold but I cant stay in it for very long bc I get so bored and I don't like getting wrinkly hands.

I used to have a fear of shower heads. Due to getting easily startled by things, I would think that one day it will just turn on full blast while I'm sitting in the tub.

Though I have no problem taking either a bath or shower. I tend to take showers more often because they are faster, especially when I need to go somewhere.
