Do sensory issues have to do with Aspergers/Autism? Do anyone have sensory problems with their cats or dogs? If you do, how do you handle it?

It is. Sensory issues are one of the main things about autism.

And, I don't own a pet. I have some issues with cats and dogs but for non-ASD reasons.

I have sensory issues that could be related to Aspergers. I am sensitive to the tone/pitch of some cats meowing, I'm sensitive to animals climbing on me just to climb rite off or walk back & forth instead of laying on me. I also don't like animals rubbing against my legs. I don't our cat climb on me sometimes(or I make her move off when she doesn't settle down fast) & I push her away when she rubs against me.

I have trouble with dogs due to sensory issues. I don't like being jumped on, don't like the oily feeling of their fur (certain breeds anyway), don't like how their breath smells, and their barking can be high-pitched and painful.

I like quiet, well-behaved dogs, with dry/fluffy fur. (Golden retrievers are my favorite!)
