Hello people.
Recently, I realized that loom knitting really helps me cope, it calms me down really quick and does make me sleep better at night.

I guess it's the repetitive movements of loom knitting that helped calm me down.

I tried crocheting, felting and loom knitting, but I found loom knitting worked the best because I don't need to count when loom knitting.

Anyone else tried knitting/ crocheting/ weaving?

I'm currently working on my crochet. My friend is teaching me a little. I really want to make animals. I have a loom too and I'm making scarves for my family and friends. I'm definitely a craft person and it really helps me cope too. My favorite is drawing and coloring though :D

I don't knit.

But Rosie Grier, who was a man who weighed about 250-300 Lbs, and was about 6 foot 4, and played in the National Football League, was well known for being a person who knitted.

I crochet, knit and macrame.
None of which really helps relax me.
If anything, they cause muscle pain and tension.

Me too. Nothing too complicated. It’s good to practice sharpening problem solving skills.

I'm currently knitting a cabled afghan. I usually like patterns that take some skill, but if it has too much going on then I get stressed out. This pattern I'm working on now has the 2 rows of cable that challenge me while it also has 6 rows of just knitting and purling that I can do without the pattern in front of me. It is relaxing. I have to have a lot of color too to keep my interest. This afghan, I used my own colors of red, blue, green, pink, purple, orange and black. The pattern called for all ivory. (yuck)

I find that weaving and loom knitting helps me to cope as well. It helps me to relax and it has a soothing effect on me.

My Mum taught me the basics when I was a kid, but I haven't tried since then. Now that you made me think about it again, I reckon I'd probably quite enjoy the "stimminess" of it, and I'm always short of socks!

Isn't that sweet. You'll have to show us some pictures of the finished product! I've only made one pair of socks and they were too wide. I followed a DVD the entire time with double pointed needles. I also learned how to do it on two circular needles.

Yesyesyes I do.

Just crafting in general.
Working with threads and yarns is a few of the many I'd like to get my hands on. It has been my long life special interest mostly doubled as a productive stim.

Out of the options at the OP, I prefer thread crochet.

I knit, but mostly I just like making things and having my own scarves.
