Our view of ourselves vs someone else's

They say we are "experts by experience" but how much does our view of ourselves trump an independent opinion? For example with the RAADS-R at the Aspie tests site I score myself an average of 69.6 for social relatedness but my sister scores me 86.

Your sister may of scored you higher as you may lack self awareness.

My GF scored me higher because I didn't have a clue I did things.

That's an interesting and fair point. I wonder what others think on the 'self awareness' issue.

I think the problem of self-awareness or its lack can lead to misperceptions in both directions. I, for one, thought for many years that I was socially gifted. I used to respond to questions about my strengths by saying that my social skills were chief among them. On the other hand, I reject the notion that people on the spectrum lack self-awareness across the board.
