We all have them especially if we have difficulty with boundaries. First dinner party I went to with my father as British consul and my mother entertaining guests- I blurted out that I got drunk at school.

Nope.....can't say that my father was a "consul" to anything.

It can be a "faux pas" if it violates "decorum," somehow. If you're in some party of diplomats or something.

But.....you probably shouldn't reveal that you "got drunk in school" to a bunch of strangers.

I made some similar mistakes which I’m still embarrassed to think about years later. That might be why I’m so shy. If I don’t talk much, I won’t have as many opportunities to embarrass myself.
