It might be an aspie trait.. I know they get stuck in the back of my throat no idea why I just cant get them to go down.. probably the sharp edges, solidity and irregular shape.

I usually have to grind them up and swallow the powder (blech disgusting).

The larger ones I usually take with a swig of water. I use chewable baby aspirin for my heart.

Water doesn't help me.. I usually have to wait for it to dissolve and taste it the whole time.

I can swallow them without a problem. I try to drink water if the medicine directions say to take with water, but if I'm not at home and have to take a pill, I just swallow it and continue on. I have lots of other problems, but not this one.

I used to have trouble swallowing pills for the longest time, but there came I time where I had to take pills. I started off small, and now I can swallow large ones.

My 21 year old (undiagnosed aspie) has always had the worst time swallowing pills. He has to "hide" them in a wad of bread, kind of like how you would give pills to a dog.

My HFA 11 year old, on the other hand, has absolutely no problem taking multiple pills at a time. Maybe that's because he's been taking pills forever. . .

Depends on how big they are. I usually have no trouble when taking an average sized pill with water.

When I was younger I couldn't swallow pills at all. As I got older I was able to swallow them better. Even though I can swallow them better I still have some difficulty. There are times I swear the pill is still in my throat or I feel the indentation of the pill in the esophagus. I was never a fan in swallowing things whole.

I always had trouble. Just started using a tongue scraper. Now pills go down easy. I think there's gunk that gets trapped in those large taste buds back there. way in the back of the tongue that keeps pills from going down smoothly. They sort of get trapped in the back of the tongue, can't swallow. Try a scraper and see if it works.

I'm not DIAGNOSED, but I have a lot of aspie traits and looked at the real DSM, and believe I AM aspie. I swallow pills FINE!

I had that problem when I had to take Ritalin. I chewed the tablets instead. That was some of the worst tasting stuff I've ever tried. It made me want to throw up.
