So a little history...I'm in my early 30s. When I was an adolescent, I was told by psychologists I had an auditory processing disorder. when I was in my mid-20s, my parents told me that I had Asperger's. Recently I did some "snooping" and found my medical records from when I was a child, and they say nothing about Asperger's, the papers only mention auditory processing disorder, so I'm wondering how my parents came to that conclusion? Is Asperger's sometimes mentioned but just not formally diagnosed on paper? I'm super shy (perhaps pathologically so) so I'm fearful of bringing that up with my parents.

In addition I have a lot of weird physical anomalies. Like strabismus (eyes don't track together), somewhat lax joints, a set of toes on each foot webbed together, pointy elf ears, and I had 7 wisdom teeth.

I was also described as very lazy and shy since I was a child.

I'm content with being an Aspie, if that's what I am, but I have this building anxiety that there could be some more insidious genetic disorder behind it.

I'm very high functioning (take care of myself just fine) but I completely lack organizational skills, and my social anxiety definitely gets in the way of leading a fulfilling life sometimes. This added "I might be broken" anxiety (perhaps it's hypochondria) sure isn't helping either.

I guess I'm mostly just venting, but if anyone can offer any words of wisdom, I'm all (pointy) ears.
