Autism and substance use (or lack thereof).
By and large I am not into drugs. Once a year I have a rum and coke with my brother, but that's it. I've never been drunk. I was high once, but that was on accident (it was bad, I had to go to the hospital). I can't help but wonder if this desire not to consume drugs is a symptom of my autism spectrum disorder, or if it something unique to me. It seems normal for people to have a drink once in a while, or at least it is where I live, so I can't help but wonder.
I couldn't if I wanted too, besides alcohol. I am very smell sensitive, one unexpected whiff of tobacco, vape, or a joint, and I'm more likely in meltdown than not.
I have no desire to do any drugs including alcohol. Though, as far as I can tell, some autistic people (Especially with ADHD, bipolar disorder or a mood disorder) are more prone to it.

I have no desire to drink or use drugs. And I was around it a lot.
While the smell of tobacco in a way is not a bad feeling (I was around it quite a bit as a child), I hate the smell of pot.
My father drank and my step-father drank. That's reason enough for me not to want to.
