I wish more people aspired to create beauty. The music and buildings at the beginning of this clip takes me away to somewhere else,a place where there's a smile or look of contentment on every face.

Does anyone else have obsessions around creating a beautiful life?

There are different kinds of people and some are more technical, I am more an artistic sort of person. I feel my mission in life is to make the world a more interesting and charming place.

I think each day there are so many opportunities to elevate the very mundane and ordinary through art to something absolutely beautiful. To some people it comes really naturally, like everything they do is part of their extended artistic vision.

Got to be very careful though in my household... if I ask my daughter to lay the table.... it turns out looking like a Nobel price dinner and we can't sit down in case we ruin anything... If i ask her to clean her bedroom, there is a fair chance she will move all the furniture around....

I have visions of creating a beautiful home environment and thriving gardens, but doing so takes a lot of time and energy.

I hope you become “obsessed with beauty” when you feel sad about things.

I love seeing beauty around me. I love it when I see my feral cats and I like seeing people walk their dogs. It really makes me smile.

I have to say I feel very grateful for all the beauty around med that other people so skillfully have created. And seeing art, architecture, listening to music, walking through gardens, studying clothes and items that people made through history fascinates me. Especially art and music touches me emotionally. It all makes me feel humble in a nice way, a grateful way.
Watching the architecture and artwork from earlier time periods are especially fascinating to me.

Yes I do aspire to create beauty around me in my home as a private thing. I don`t feel I am talented or very capable but it gives me joy every time I feel I am actually getting somewhere with a project and it is rewarding to spend my time with, for me and those nearest to me. Although the ordinary duties combined with my capacity tends to make me focus on making things practical and easy for me to get through the day. But my projects of interest still mean a lot to me even if other people don`t really see what I am trying to do :D

And the work of others is inspirational as well as making the world more interesting and beautiful! :)

I like both man-made beauty and natural beauty.

I feel an "aesthetic of beauty" is very important.

I think it helps to have an objective meaning of beauty because qualifying something as beautiful begs the question of why this or that thing is beautiful.

So I take a design oriented approach where elegance would be the objective quality underlying all or most beautiful things.

The beauty of simplicity on the surface with a magnificently complex structure would be the objective elegance.

The sky, a glass of water, and a quiet life are all very complex in nature, but are a convergence into something easily appreciated and enhance well-being significantly.

But it doesn't even have to be exactly those things for everyone as one can have different tastes. One can find what works for this personally without needing to convince anyone else of it. This is the beauty of thinking for yourself. It's mind freeing.

Yep , but I'm too apathetic and stuck in my ways to do anything about it.
