My sleep is not great as it is, so I'm a bit apprehensive about trying it.

But I feel that if I tried it, it could benefit me.

Impossible to say , Meds affect everyone differently. Side effects of ADD meds can cause sleep problems but it's not a given. Google the brand to see if other users have sleep problems and if they have found workarounds for sleep issues.

The aim with stimulant medication is to find a type, delivery and dosage that works for the individual, so that the effect has worn off by the end of the day. With this type of drug the effects should be seen immediately, it will not take long to determine if there are any negative side effects, such as making sleeplessness worse, there is also a chance that your sleep patterns may be improved by the medication. If the side effects are too much to tolerate, stop taking it. To help with sleep problems, it's also worth looking at natural supplements and adjusting your life style if possible.

Another side effect you may not have anticipated is the "crash" that people experience when the stimulant wears off for the day. It may render you fairly nonfunctional until the next morning when you have the next dose of stimulant.

It also depends on when you take the medication. In my experience, it's better to take it in the morning as soon as you wake up. Take it anytime after 12:00 PM and you could be having a hard time going to sleep. If I still feel awake even before the time I go to sleep, I take melatonin to help me get to sleep if I had work or school to go to in the morning. That's just my routine that works.

Well, there's a lot to weigh up, then

I suppose I'll just have to suck-it-and-see.
