My Autism in the Workplace Idea
I posted this idea on my Facebook a few weeks ago and I got some positive feedback on it.
I have an idea for Autism in the Workplace especially in the UK.
Because in some cases some people on the Spectrum gets bullied or even discriminated in the workplace as I was myself a few years ago I feel they need to make companies whether it be retail, admin/office, construction doesn’t matter what field of work is have a policy that they recognise Adults with Autism and that all staff-members must respect that the individual may be different. Also, in a workplace people can work under pressure and under-stress which I know for someone on the Autistic Spectrum could cause a Burnout or Meltdown, you can’t get rid of stress but to reduce Meltdowns, Burnouts make the Workplace a more comfortable environment where the person can take there time without the Pressure. If needs be someone needs to calm down for 5 minutes they can do that.
Also, having job training centres for people on the Autistic Spectrum where they can get extra help in finding a job and get extra provisions from these centres. Also, learn lessons on things like Money-Management how to look after your money (which may be beneficial for young adults). Also, learn interview techniques and may be some confidence boosting lessons. Also, these centres won’t work on a 6-8 week program but you carry on going until you have a job. Also, the companies with the Autism Friendly scheme can work along side them.
This is just an idea I think where the authorities and government can help more Adults with Autism. They help children more as I have mentioned in another thread.
